Abbott Nutrition was forced to close an infant formula factory earlier this year over concerns that its products contained a bacterium that could cause life-threatening reactions. The company, which has said there was no “conclusive evidence” to link it to consumer complaints about sick babies, has reopened the factory. “Making infant formula is a responsibility we take very seriously, and parents can feel confident in the quality and safety of Similac and other Abbott formulas,” said Robert Ford, Abbott CEO. “We are committed to re-earning the trust parents and health care providers have placed in us for decades.”
