Sales of ‘The Satanic Verses’ rose after Salman Rushdie was attacked

Salman Rushdie’s “The Satanic Verses” has climbed to the top of bestseller lists after the author was stabbed Friday in an attack. Publication of the novel led Ayatollah Khomeini, the former leader of Iran, to issue a fatwa calling for the death of the author.
