Summer snack time in our fam is all about the popsicle. (Maybe you’ve seen me and my #tinychef helper make them together on a recent IG reel?!)
But really…. what’s not to like?! Popsicles that are REAL FOOD based (aka nutrient dense), made with things you already have on hand, are so simple & easy to do, and have all the JOY that the store bought versions do (but without all the chemicals, high fructose corn syrup, red dye #40, extra sugar, etc).
Aka popsicles you can feel great about serving & eating your babes (and that won’t cause a blood sugar crash after).
Honestly, these are the key (along with hydration & resting) to keep the summer fun rolling IMHO. All made with ingredients you probably already have!
Bonus that toddler helpers make these EXTRA fun to make… and eat! Check out my #tinychef helper in all of the recipes below, video tutorials shared and linked on insta so you can find/save them easily there, too!
4 homemade summer popsicle recipes
BTW, my favorite popsicle mold to use are THESE. They’re the perfect size for littles to enjoy (less mess!), and the popsicles pop out easily. The best!
Blackberry Coconut Popsicles:
1 cup blackberries (or whatever summer fruit you have & love!)
1 cup coconut milk from the can (full fat)
1-2 tsp maple syrup
Blend all together & pour into popsicle molds. Freeze for at least an hour.
Peaches & Cream Popsicles:
1 large ripe nectarine or peach
1 cup coconut milk (from the can, full fat)
1 tsp maple syrup (or leave out for babies, like I did in this video with the ice cube trays, and then add maple and blend again for bigger kids).
Blend all together & pour into popsicle molds. Freeze for at least an hour.
Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Popsicles:
1 cup strawberries (or whatever summer fruit you have & love!)
1 cup Greek yogurt (full fat)
2 tsp maple syrup (bc strawberries are more tart than most other summer fruit, usually we do 1 tsp with other fruit).
Blend all together & pour into popsicle molds. Freeze for at least an hour.
Blueberry Frozen Yogurt Popsicles:
1 cup (ish) full fat Greek yogurt
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1-2 tsp maple syrup (or more if you have a sweeter palate).
Blend. Pour into popsicle molds. And delight later.
